I'm also getting these errors when I try to unzip the tarball with WinRAR on the host end unless I run WinRAR as an administrator. Check the permissions on the folder you want to map to your VM. Click on the arrow sign on the Folder Path option to confirm the folder’s. Select the Shared Folder option on the left pane, and on the far right corner, click the folder with the plus sign. Right-click on the virtual machine you need on the left pane and select the Settings option. I'm running a Kubuntu 17.04 in VirtualBox as a guest OS on a Windows 10 host, because the single disk of my laptop has too many partitions to set up dual boot on it. On Ubuntu 19.10s guest virtual machine, the login screen does no longer show up after installing VirtualBox Guest Additions, on host Arch Linux. VirtualBox Sharing Folders with Windows 10 Guest and Ubuntu Host. So I have a project that requires a specific (and modified) version of the jdk, which I am given as a tar.gz. Cant see shared folders in VirtualBox Ubuntu VM 1.
